Q: Who teaches the students at Legacy Explorers Academy?
Legacy Explorers is a parent-led microschool, which means you, as the parent, are the primary teacher. We provide a supportive community, enrichment activities, and one annual adventure, but parents guide daily learning at home.
Q: Is curriculum included in the tuition?
No—families choose and purchase their own curriculum to best suit their children’s needs and learning styles. We’re happy to recommend resources, but we believe parents know their children best.
Q: What does tuition cover?
Tuition covers one unforgettable historical travel experience each year, as well as access to community meetups, field trips, and monthly learning journal support. All other educational materials are provided by the family.
Q: Do we have to follow a specific curriculum?
Not at all! Families are free to use the curriculum that fits them best. Many follow Charlotte Mason, Classical, Unit Studies, or eclectic approaches. We often see parents using the Good and the Beautiful, Well Educated Heart and Belle Ame.
Q: Is Legacy Explorers Academy accredited?
No, we are not an accredited school—we are a private, parent-led learning community. Each family is responsible for meeting their state’s homeschooling requirements.
Q: How do you track student progress?
We keep things simple and meaningful with a monthly learning log or journal. It’s a personal reflection that can include stories, photos, projects, or memories—and it helps us keep attendance while creating a beautiful record of the learning journey.
Q: Can we participate if we don’t live nearby?
Absolutely! While many of our events are local, families from all over can join us for the big adventure and connect with the community online.
Q: Can we use Utah Fits All (UFA) funds for tuition?
Yes! We are a UFA-approved provider, and tuition can be fully covered through the Utah Fits All Scholarship.
Q: Can we join from out of state?
Absolutely. Our community is open to families across the U.S., with flexible learning and travel options.
